Gerald R. Maier, J.D., CPA, MAI - Mr. Maier obtained both his undergraduate degree and law degree from
the University of Kansas. A short stint in public accounting
between the two degrees allowed him to attain his CPA while attending
law school. His appraisal career started in 1986. Mainland
Valuation Services was started shortly after he attained his MAI in 1992. Over the past
20 years, Mr. Maier has appraised a broad range of real estate
from ranches and golf courses to race tracks and regional malls.

Curtis L. Frazier, MAI - Mr. Frazier is a Partner of Mainland
Valuation Services and has been with the firm since 1998. Prior to that, Mr. Frazier had been with Mid-America
Appraisals since 1992. Curt’s valuation
experience focuses on both institutional and non-institutional
properties including multifamily, senior care, retail, industrial and special use types.
Mr. Frazier has substantial experience
in multifamily housing and senior care properties throughout
the central states.
Multifamily housing experience has included conventional housing,
tax credit deals throughout the states of Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, project based Section 8 housing
and valuation of bond financing. Assignments within the senior care market include nursing homes, assisted
living facilities, age-restricted apartments,
residential care facilities and CCRC’s. These assignments have
included market analyses and comprehensive appraisals for developers, lenders and owners.
Mr. Frazier also has extensive experience in self storage valuation,
construction (new & conversion) and management. Since 1998, Mr. Frazier has been involved in the
development and/or conversion of self storage and commercial warehousing space. Mr. Frazier is also a member of both the Kansas and Missouri Self Storage Owner’s Association and the Self Storage Association. In addition
to completing most of the assignments for this property type, he has provided consultation to lenders, owners,
investors and brokers with respect to the state of the self storage market.
With respect to retail, Mr. Frazier has
been involved with regional malls, community centers and net
leased freestanding retail buildings throughout
Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. Mr. Frazier received his Bachelor
of Science Degree in Management Technology with a minor in
Total Quality Management and two Associate Degrees from Missouri
Southern State University. He holds the MAI designation
from the Appraisal Institute and is a licensed real estate
salesperson in the state of Kansas. more...
Thomas M. Scaletty, MAI - Mr. Scaletty
is a Senior Appraiser and has been with Mainland Valuation Services since 1993. His valuation specialties include apartments and condominiums. Specifically, between 2003 and 2005, Mr. Scaletty has appraised 9,600 multifamily units.
A majority of the projects appraised by Mr. Scaletty represent institutional investments for clients
such as Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and Lehman Brothers.
Mr. Scaletty is also well versed in the
appraisal of retail, office, industrial and development land.
Mr. Scaletty is licensed
to appraise in Kansas, Missouri and Texas and has obtained
temporary permits in several other states throughout the Midwest and Southwest.
Mr. Scaletty received his Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Organizational Communication from the University
of Kansas. Mr. Scaletty was been elected to the Board of Directors
for the Kansas City Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. more...
